Easy ways for your hair to beat the heat this summer!

Maintain Your Beautiful Hair this Summer!

We all know the harmful effects the sun can have on our skin.  It can cause damage to our hair, as well!  So while you are out having fun, soaking up the rays this summer, don't forget to show your hair some TLC!!

During the summertime, the hot sun and humid air, along with salty ocean water and pool chlorine, can leave your hair looking and feeling fried and lackluster.  The fix is quick and simple.
Before venturing outsie, there are a few options to maintain the integrity of your hair's health and color.  If you plan on entering a pool, wet down your hair with a spray bottle of plain water, so it won't soak up so much damaging chlorine.  Coat your locks with a product that contains Keratin, and comb it through to maintain shine, moisture, and elasticity.  To protect colored hair, either apply an oil, or sprtiz on a leave-in conditioner with UV filters.  The sun shield will protect your haircolor.

I personally love Rene Furterer Protective Summer Oil.  This product is the all around package.  It contains sesame oil, which will protect your cuticle, a UV sunscreen, and it's waterproof!

Another one of my favorite products to use during the summer comes from Frederick Fekkai's Marine Summer Line, called Beachcomber Leave-In Conditioner.  Besides the fact that this product also containes a UV shield to prevent the fading of your color, is also detangles and instantly boosts moisture.

Want to create your own home remedy for summer hair?  Try coating your hair strands with aloe vera or olive oil.  Don't want to deal with the fuss?  Accesorize with a scarf or hat to protect your hair and scalp from the sun.

Is red hair the new color trend?

Are redheads making a comeback this summer?

Redheads have been considered to be some of the sexiest women throughout history.  As rare as they are, they sure know how to stand out. Redheads seem to be mysterious and naughty, and have been a favorite type for men since the pin-ups. Redheads can have different shades including ginger, auburn, mahogany, and strawberry brown. Here are some celebrities that are bringing sexy back with red hair!

Supermodel Eniko Mihalik is bringing back the pin-up girl style with her fiery red glamorous hair.

Blake Lively recently went from blonde bombshell to sultry redhead for a new role in a movie. I think she looks stunning with red hair. It makes her beautiful eyes stand out even more and blends nicely with her skin tone.

Ask your stylists for a strawberry blonde toner combined with some coppery shades. Toners are demi-permanent and perfect for a temporary change because they eventually fade out of the hair in about four weeks. They are low maintenance and affordable.

Scarlett Johansson is considered one of the sexiest women in the world. There is something about her that makes men want her and makes women want to be like her. In the past couple of years we have seen her with different shades of reds. In this photo, her darker mahogany and auburn hair, makes her porcelain skin look radiant.

Get the look: Ask your stylist for an all-over dark reddish brown or mahogany color combined with a few auburn low-lights. Use hot rollers to style your hair and add some red lipstick to finish up this glamorous look!

Khloe Kardashian also changed her look for her new reality show with
her hubby. I love her with some red tones, it makes her skin look flawless! She stole the spotlight from her dark haired sisters at The Peoples Choice Awards and looked sexy and confident!

There really is something about redheads! If you're curious, try a toner with some red hues, and see what the stereotype is all about! Always consult with your stylist for the best options for your skin tone and hair type.
