Short on Time? 3 Ways to Sexy Hair in 30 Minutes!

One of the most coveted looks still remains the sultry beach hair that you see on many celebrities, including Kate Hudson, Olivia Wilde and Jessica Biel.

This messy bed-head look is very popular because it can be worn day or night, whether it’s shopping with girlfriends or dining with a hot date.  It seems like so much work though, right?  Wrong!  Here are 3 different ways to achieve similar styles within 30 minutes or less:
Method A:
Use a 1 inch ceramic curling iron or an 1 inch ceramic clip-less wand.  Enzo Milano makes a great one that even comes with a thermal glove to prevent burns! http://www.enzomilano.com/

Starting at the nape of neck, take 2 inch x 2 inch sections, spray with a heat protector (such as Paul Mitchell Express Style Thermal Protection Spray), and wrap the hair around the wand or iron, leaving out 2 inches of the hair ends.  Hold for 5 seconds and release.  Continue through the entire head until all sections are done.
Try wrapping in alternate directions for a more natural look.  Also remember: the larger your sections, the bigger the waves. If you want smaller waves, take 1 inch sections instead.

When you are done, don’t brush or comb through; just use your fingers to separate or shake your hair around until the desired look is achieved.  Then lightly apply a hair cream just to give it some shine and light textured hold, such as Davines Wizard No. 10 Polishing Coat. http://www.davines.com/

Method B:
Invest in a large triple barrel waver because this will become your new best friend!  There have been many small barrel wavers on the market, but you want to get the newer, larger one for the best effect.  Try the Hot Tools Tourmaline Deep Waver. http://www.hottools.com/
Starting at the nape again, section the hair from ear to ear and clip away the rest.  Within the area that was just parted, prep with thermal spray. Then take 1 inch vertical sections and crimp vertically,   hold for 5 seconds, and release.  Continue farther down the hair shaft and repeat, leaving out and inch or two of the ends.  Move on to the next vertical section until all sections of the lower half are complete.  Then drop the hair down from the top section and work the sections the same way.  The key to using this tool is to crimp at different areas or angles so the wave does not look so uniform.  After all the sections have been done, lightly scrunch with a flexible hold hairspray and finger comb.
Method C:
Of all waving techniques, this is by far the easiest and fastest way to add texture in your hair.  After shampooing and conditioning your hair, towel dry as much as possible and use a styling cream with thermal protection, such as Davines Momo Anti-frizz Fluid.
Using your hands, apply cream mid-length to ends, without brushing or combing through.  Next, take your hair dryer and rough dry until 70% of your hair is dry.  (Flip your head up-side-down if you want to add volume.)  Then, use a beach spray and lightly mist the entire head.  I would recommend using Philip B’s Maui Wowie; smells fantastic and a little goes a long way. http://www.philipb.com/
After the beach spray, loosely wrap your hair into a bun and secure it with a few bobby pins.  If you want to have wave and volume, section your hair in half to have a upper and lower bun.  Take out your hair dryer, if time permits, and blast some heat on the bun(s) to dry quicker.
Running behind on schedule already?  No problem! Just roll down your windows while you’re driving to your destination.
When you’re ready, just remove the pins, unwind the bun(s), and viola! Sexy beach hair without ever stepping in the sand!
So go ahead and try it out!  Whether it’s method A, B, or C, I promise you will find an easy way to look sexy and beached-up!

Springtime hairstyles and beauty tips for damaged hair!

Does your hair have Spring Fever yet?
Let me tell you about 3 hot looks for springtime to help rejuvenate your hair and still look cute and put together.

Taking care of your hair is crucial before heading into summer. Prevent hair damage starting now by using high-quality products to style your hair. If you have dry or damaged hair, use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to give your hair some protein.  Get yourself a repairing hair mask and find time once a week to treat your hair.

Ponytails

Ponytails are my favorite style to wear during this season.  They do not require any harsh products or hot tools.  After washing your hair, towel dry and brush it. Create your ponytail however you prefer, whether it is high, low or to the side and use a crème based product with some moisturizing benefits to scrunch into the ends of your hair. Use the same product to smooth out any frizz around your forehead and sides.  This will give your ponytail a piece-y wavy natural look.

Bohemian Waves

For a free and bouncy look you can leave all your hair down, scrunch up some of your product into the ends and play with it until it falls into its natural state. This will give you more volume, movement and a beach-y look, and you can even dress it up with a cute head band or flower.

Sleek Bun

Turn either of these looks into a sleek tight bun to give a more sophisticated and clean cut look for the evening.

My favorite products for spring!!!

  • Momo shampoo and conditioner by Davines to nourish dry hair

  • Vegetarian miracle mask, also by Davines, for nourishment

  • Crème of the crop “light” by Philip B. to scrunch up and finish your look.

Kim Kardashian Blow Dry At Home!

Blow Dry 101: Big and Sexy Waves!

Want voluminous hair? Now you can do it yourself!

Just follow my blow dry tips below and you can look like a celebrity!

Tools you need:

-1800w ionic blow dryer
-Three to five 1-1.5in round ceramic brushes
-Sectioning clips
-A paddle brush
-A rat-tail comb

Styling Products Used Here:  Moroccan Oil, Davines Defining Volume Mousse, and Davines Defining Glam Spray

After washing your hair, towel it dry to reduce excess water and start blow drying your hair until it is about 70% dry.

Apply Moroccan Oil mainly to your ends and on any damaged or dry parts of your hair.

Brush your hair from root to ends with a paddle brush to detangle the hair and start sectioning a single straight line down the middle from the crown to the nape - dividing the back of your head of hair in half.

Leave one and a half inches hanging down and clip the rest of your hair up in two sections.

Divide the bottom section of hair closest to the nape of your neck into two sections. We'll start here.

Now start blow drying this bottom section by holding the ceramic brush close to your scalp.

Concentrate on smoothing and drying your roots and following through to the middle of this section of the hair, working toward the ends.

Repeat this step until this bottom section of hair is fully dry and the brush is smoothly running through your hair.

Each time you finish drying a section, curl the section onto your brush and leave the brush sitting on your head. This will create extra volume and wave.

Continue working sections from the nape up the head to the top of your scalp.

When you run out of brushes, but still have more hair to style just remove a brush from the nape where you started and use it on the next section.

Be careful when removing the brush as your hair could be tangled in it. To avoid tangles it is very important to be neat and organized when rolling the brushes up to the base.

Once you remove the brushes you will see waves. Now the real fun begins!

You can tease starting from the top of the head, at the point where you want the most volume, to the nape and all the way around.

I love teasing!

But not everyone wants big glamorous hair so feel free to skip this step and just finish with Davines Defining Glam Spray and you are on your way.

Run your fingers through your hair gently to get a natural wavy look.

Motivate, educate and inspire yourself to look amazing and confident.
