Do you ever wonder how you would look with darker hair?
Why not try it during the summer and stand out next to all the blondes!
Do blondes really have more fun? And what's up with the rule that you can't color your hair darker during the summer? There is no rule ladies, so do what makes you happy because brunettes can have just as much fun!
There are things to consider when deciding to go darker, especially during the summertime. Start with deciding how dark you really want to go. If you just want a mini makeover, you can go a few shades darker by using a semi-permanent color. This will last a few weeks while gradually fading to your old color. I suggest using a semi-permanent color when going darker for anyone with highlighted hair who just wants a few lighter pieces to still show.
In this photo of Gisele Bundchen, you can see some hues of lighter brown shades which are the highlighted pieces coming through, mostly through the ends. This will fade gradually in a couple of weeks so it is a temporary change without making any commitments.
Dark brown or black hair can also be very fun during the summer. In this photo, I had colored my hair using permanent color with low ammonia. I had to use permanent color so that it would cover my previous highlights and fade less frequently. If you have natural hair and want to go as dark as I did, I suggest using a semi-permanent the first time to make sure it is exactly what you want. When coloring your hair, always try to do the least damaging option especially during the summer when hair can be more fragile. Hope this helps motivate those of you who want to go dark but had doubts about the rule against it!-Leeya
